Remote therapy services provide a benefit to both parties: candidates, with the flexibility to work from anywhere with the right credentials and technology, and to school districts looking for innovative ways to serve their growing student populations. As a teletherapist with Spindle, powered by Vocovision, you’ll be equipped with the latest technology and support to do your best work from afar. You’ll deliver services through a video connection, including speech, mental and occupational therapies. The digital sessions will include audio and visual interaction supported by proprietary, leading resources made available through Vocovision. Never before have students been able to receive high-quality therapy services in a remote format that’s as close as we’ve ever been to in-person support. And if you want a flexible work schedule? Spindle’s got opportunities for you.
Onsite assistants are often available to help facilitate the student’s access at the school, but you’ll be providing services including the following (based on your credentials and ability):
- Speech Language Pathologist - Telespeech SLPs support students with Fluency, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Autism Spectrum Disorder and more.
- Occupational Therapist - Telehealth OTs perform a variety of services remotely, including evaluation, monitoring, intervention and more.
- School Psychologist - Telehealth Psychologists are responsible for helping students with behavior and mental health issues.
Requirements for Getting a Teletherapy Job
Teletherapy is essentially the delivery of therapy services through a video connection, therefore you need to be equipped with the technology to do the job. If you're ready, you can go ahead and complete our tech screening assessment even before you apply for a specific teletherapy job. The screening is designed to ensure that your equipment can perform up to standard and that your abilities are proficient enough to record a Zoom call and complete the requested steps along the way.
Teletherapy Job Outlook and Salary
Teletherapy provides incredible flexibility, even making it an opportunity for clinicians looking to supplement their income as a second job. You’ll be able to support students in time zones outside of your own when you’re not at your usual full-time job. Plus, demand for teletherapy has been increasing providing some great financial incentives to qualified candidates, given emerging research showing that teletherapy can work as well or better than in-person therapy with the right tools and appropriate training. For many rural school districts, remote services like these can reach students with special needs that are otherwise hard to support.
