Key Experience & Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional or similar role preferred
- CPR and First Aid certifications required for all candidates
- Capacity to work 1:1 with students on the autism spectrum or in general classroom settings
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff
- Adaptability to shifting needs in a fast-paced educational setting
- Compassion, patience, and reliability with a student-focused mindset
Responsibilities:
- Offer direct classroom support, including assisting students during instructional activities, transitions, and daily routines
- Provide 1:1 assistance for students with autism or other special needs, supporting their academic, behavioral, and social development
- Implement teacher-designed activities and behavior plans under the guidance of certified staff
- Promote positive, inclusive interactions among students and foster a safe learning environment
- Assist students with personal care, communication, or movement as needed
- Document observations, track progress, and communicate effectively with the educational team
