Frequently Asked Questions

What are the requirements? At least 6 months of school-based experience working with general and/or special populations. Must hold valid state licensure/certifications in respected fields.

How long does it take to become a Spindle per diem/sub? The credentialing process can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks from initial contact with a recruiter. Credentialing period is dependent on individual state and school requirements.

Can I work per diem/sub if I am on a part-time assignment with another agency? Yes, if you are making less than 30 hours/week you are eligible to pick up hours through Spindle.

How will I be notified of an assignment? Keep your notifications on! When an assignment in your selected radius becomes available, you will be alerted via the app. At that time you can accept or decline the assignment based on details provided. All assignments are on a first come first serve basis.

How will I be paid? Payment is issued via direct deposit on the Friday following the week your assignment is completed, with direct deposit details collected by email after you accept your first shift.

What is the interview process? There is no traditional interview for substitute roles. However, all candidates are vetted through a credentialing and compliance process. A Spindle rep may reach out if clarification is needed.
