Job Description

Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Illinois certification or licensure as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
- Proven ability to implement robust instructional strategies tailored for students with hearing impairments
- Experience utilizing assistive technologies and visual aids
- Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) and alternative communication methods
- Exceptional collaboration and communication abilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction, adapting materials and strategies to meet each students needs
- Create and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), incorporating accommodations and modifications
- Integrate assistive technology and visual supports to foster a positive, accessible classroom experience
- Work closely with classroom teachers, parents, and related service personnel to promote student growth and achievement
- Provide training, resources, and ongoing support to students, staff, and families on deaf and hard of hearing best practices
