Moderate to Severe 6th - 8thGrade Special Education Teacher

Spindle is partnering with a school district to hire an Education Specialist focused on Moderate to Severe Support Needs for secondary students in grades 68 for next school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized academic instruction and social-emotional support in a structured setting for students with emotional and behavioral needs

• Implement trauma-informed, restorative, and positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) practices

• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs with goals addressing both academic performance and social-emotional behavior targets

• Collaborate with school psychologists, counselors, and mental health partners to coordinate wraparound student support

• Track student progress toward academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals and adjust programming accordingly

Qualifications:

• California Education Specialist Credential  Education Specialist Bridge - Moderate Support Needs

• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities in a secondary setting preferred

• Strong trauma-informed practice knowledge, crisis de-escalation skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities
