Special Education Teacher in Sunnyvale, CA

This full-time contract position begins ASAP and continues through June 9, 2025. You'll join a dedicated environment with four experienced support staff in the classroom, each familiar with the students and their needs. Candidates should bring the following qualifications:

• Active California teaching credential in mild/moderate or moderate/severe special education, required
• Previous experience working with middle and high school students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting
• Confidence and capability to support students exhibiting behavioral needs
• Collaborative spiritready to work closely with established support staff
• Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues

Key duties include:

• Providing individualized and small-group instruction tailored to IEP goals
• Cultivating a safe, therapeutic classroom environment
• Collaborating with team members and therapists to implement behavior plans
• Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
• Actively participating in IEP meetings and parent communications
• Adapting instructional strategies to best meet student needs
