Special Ed Teacher - San Francisco, California

Bring your expertise in special education to a rewarding contract opportunity, supporting elementary students in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a full-time position (35.85 hours per week) for experienced Special Education Teachers ready to make a difference in the classroom. Youll work closely with 11 students throughout the school year, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Your background in special education and dedication to individualized instruction will be essential as you collaborate with families, staff, and other professionals to deliver comprehensive support to students with moderate to severe needs. This position starts as soon as possible, and two positions are currently available.

Qualifications:

• Must hold an active California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist Credential (required)
• Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in an elementary setting
• Expertise in creating and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Plans)
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Passion for fostering growth and independence in students with disabilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with school teams and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction tailored to students individual needs and IEP goals
• Modify curriculum materials and adapt lesson plans for accessibility
• Establish a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals
• Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians
