Job Description
Make a positive impact in the lives of elementary students as a contract Special Education Teacher for the upcoming first semester. Located in the vibrant area south of San Francisco, this position offers the opportunity to support students as a Resource Specialist (RSP) during a crucial period and may continue through the end of the academic year. This role is designed for a dedicated professional who brings expertise and heart to the classroom, guiding students with mild to moderate needs toward growth and success.
What you bring:
- Active California credential in mild/moderate special education (required)
- Demonstrated experience working with elementary-aged students in a resource or special education setting
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Ability to adapt instruction and provide differentiated support within the classroom setting
- Team-oriented mindset and superb communication skills with colleagues and families
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to changing student and school needs
In this role, you will:
- Deliver instruction and support for a caseload of elementary students with mild to moderate needs as an RSP teacher
- Craft and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and ensure compliance
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusive learning environments
- Regularly assess and communicate student progress to families and the educational team
- Maintain accurate records and fulfill all required documentation
- Support a positive, respectful classroom culture that celebrates student strengths
