Special Ed Teacher | San Francisco, California

Embark on a rewarding contract position supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher, focused on Early Start Needs (ESN) with moderate to severe needs. This full-time opportunity runs through June 4, 2026, and is based in San Leandro, CA, close to the dynamic San Francisco area. Your expertise will guide transitional kindergarten and kindergarten students, fostering their growth and development in an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.

Key qualifications and experience:

• Current, active California Moderate/Severe teaching credential (required)
• Background in special education, ideally with ESN students in early elementary (TK/K)
• Ability to tailor lessons and interventions to individual needs
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with families, related service providers, and school staff
• Compassion and creativity in supporting diverse learning styles

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction, curriculum modification, and behavioral support to ESN students with moderate to severe needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal student outcomes
• Adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate varied abilities
• Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment that encourages student independence
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines
