This full-time, contract opportunity is focused on a 7th/8th grade Therapeutic class, serving students with significant behavioral needs. The position runs from ASAP through June 9, 2025. The classroom is structured for collaboration, with four dedicated support staff who have established working relationships with the students. You'll work closely with this team to foster a positive, engaging, and safe environment for middle school learners.

Qualifications:

• Active California Education Specialist Credential in mild/moderate or moderate/severe required
• Prior experience working with middle or high school Special Day Class (SDC) students
• Familiarity and confidence managing students exhibiting challenging behaviors
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with classroom assistants and related service providers

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Engage students in therapeutic learning activities in alignment with academic and behavioral goals
• Lead a classroom team of experienced aides, ensuring instructional consistency and emotional support
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
• Foster relationships with families and support staff to enhance student success
