Special Ed Teacher | Raymond, California

Step into a rewarding educational environment supporting students with unique learning needs in a self-contained classroom for grades 712. This contract position, beginning in August, offers the opportunity to help shape the Behavior Intervention Program for students with emotional disabilities. The current caseload is small and manageablea mix of middle and high school students, with a present caseload of five and a maximum of ten, all supported by two dedicated full-time aides. Your expertise will provide individualized strategies and meaningful engagement as you foster a positive, growth-focused atmosphere.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid and active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist (SPED) Credential required
• Previous experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities, preferably at the secondary level
• Strong understanding of behavior intervention strategies and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Ability to excel in an in-person, self-contained classroom setting
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Commitment to building supportive and structured environments for students with emotional and behavioral needs

Core Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement individualized and group instruction for students with emotional disabilities
• Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
• Utilize evidence-based behavioral intervention strategies
• Coordinate efforts with classroom aides, administration, and related service providers
• Foster social and academic growth for each student
• Maintain documentation and data collection for progress monitoring
• Create a safe, positive, and structured classroom environment

This is a full-time (35 hours/week), in-person role for the full 26/27 school year, serving a close-knit school community near Raymond, CA.
