A contract position is available for a dedicated and compassionate special education teacher experienced with moderate to severe needs (ESN). This full-time opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year, offering a rewarding chance to build relationships and impact the school community.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid and active California Credential for Moderate/Severe Disabilities (Mod/Sev)
• Strong background working in ESN Special Day Class settings
• Proven proficiency in writing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Solid understanding of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and demonstrated implementation in classroom settings
• Successful experience coaching and managing teams of 5-9 paraeducators
• Comfortable with a class caseload of approximately 10-15 students
• Ability to foster an inclusive, positive, and safe classroom atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction tailored to individual learning differences and IEP requirements
• Create and adapt lesson plans to support academic and social/emotional goals
• Assess, document, and report on student progress, collaborating with families and multi-disciplinary teams
• Coach, mentor, and lead paraeducators to ensure consistency and excellence in classroom support
• Effectively manage behavioral and support strategies as outlined in BIPs
• Contribute to meetings, parent conferences, and IEP development processes
