This contract role is perfect for a dedicated Special Education professional ready for an in-person teaching position beginning in August for the 26/27 school year. With a full-time 35-hour work week, youll work on a main campus alongside an encouraging principal and vice principal, focusing on a mild/moderate caseload of up to 10 students needing both academic and social/emotional support.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential required
  • Substantial experience facilitating IEPs, including leading meetings and collaborating with families and staff
  • Demonstrated success supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities, especially in elementary grades K-6
  • Strong background assisting students exhibiting social and emotional needs
  • Skilled in adapting curriculum and environment to foster student progress
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team with administrative and instructional support

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student
  • Facilitate and lead IEP meetings, ensuring compliance and clear communication
  • Provide direct instruction and intervention, both academically and with social-emotional behaviors
  • Collaborate closely with campus administration and general education teachers to promote student inclusion and growth
  • Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate and thorough documentation
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and structured classroom atmosphere
