Special Education Teacher in Mariposa, CA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant educational environment near Mariposa, CA. This full-time role focuses on grades K-6, providing dedicated assistance to a caseload of mild to moderate special education students on a main campus. You will collaborate closely with on-site leadership, including the Principal and Vice Principal, ensuring a warm, team-oriented support network. The position is in-person only, beginning in August for the 26/27 academic year, and offers the chance to make a direct impact in the classroom for up to 10 students.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential is required
• Considerable experience developing and managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including facilitating meetings
• Strong track record working with K-6 students, particularly those requiring social/emotional support
• Demonstrated ability to create positive, inclusive learning environments
• Excellent communication and organization skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to K-6 students with mild to moderate needs
• Oversee all IEP processes: writing plans, collecting data, communicating with families, and leading IEP meetings
• Collaborate with general education staff and school leadership to implement effective strategies
• Support students social and emotional development with empathy and structured interventions
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and progress reports for each student
