Job Description

To succeed in this position, youll need:
- A current, active California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist credential (required)
- Experience working within special education settings, especially with elementary-age students
- Strong commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom for all learners
- Patience, flexibility, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and staff
- An understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) with the ability to implement and monitor goals effectively
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and adapting lessons to meet the unique needs of each student on your caseload
- Managing a classroom of 11 students, providing both group and individualized instruction
- Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to coordinate services
- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and strategies for support
- Participating in IEP meetings, assessments, and ongoing professional development
