Special Education Teacher in Hayward, CA

Make a real impact supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming elementary school setting. This full-time, in-person contract opportunity is based in the Piedmont, CA area and focuses on an ESN SPED (Extensive Support Needs Special Education) caseload at the elementary level for the upcoming school year.

We are searching for a compassionate educator with experience in special education who is eager to collaborate with colleagues and provide the highest level of support for students with additional needs.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Current and active California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist credential (required)
• Prior background teaching in special education; ESN or similar caseload experience is a plus
• Dedication to empowering students with diverse abilities
• Strong skills in individualized instruction and adapting curriculum
• Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, school staff, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management abilities

Role Highlights:

• Provide direct instruction for elementary-age students receiving ESN services
• Adapt lessons and create individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique strengths and needs
• Implement behavior management strategies in line with best practices
• Track and report on student progress; participate in IEP meetings
• Work with support staff and caregivers to foster student growth and well-being
• Uphold confidentiality and advocate for student inclusion and success
