Special Education Teacher - Hayward, CA

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as part of a dedicated Special Education team in South San Francisco, CA. This position focuses on students in K-2, working across both a new and an existing Expanded Support Needs (ESN) classroom, serving a caseload of 10 students. Your expertise and compassion as a Special Education professional will directly impact young learners growth and success throughout the 2026/2027 school year, beginning August 13th and continuing through the end of the school year (EOSY).

In this full-time role, youll benefit from ongoing support from educational leaders and collaborate with other knowledgeable SPED professionals.

Qualifications:

• Active California Teaching Credential with Moderate/Severe Authorization (MUST have)
• Prior experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities at the elementary level, preferably in ESN classroom settings
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, curriculum adaptation, and implementing individualized supports
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Dedication to creating a positive, structured, and engaging learning atmosphere

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction and manage classroom activities for K-2 ESN students (caseload of 10 across two classrooms)
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff and families
• Tailor curricula and provide differentiated instruction catering to a range of abilities
• Employ evidence-based behavioral and academic strategies
• Support students in developing essential social, academic, and life skills

This contract-based role offers competitive pay between $40-$55 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.
