Special Ed Teacher - Hayward, California

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education teacher, supporting middle school students in a resource specialist program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time contract opportunity is located near South San Francisco, CA, and is designed for educators who are passionate about fostering student growth and inclusivity. What were looking for:

• Active and current California credential in mild/moderate special education (required)
• Experience or strong interest working with middle school students in a RSP (Resource Specialist Program) setting
• Strong collaboration skills for partnering with families, general education teachers, and support staff
• Familiarity with IEP processes, documentation, and goal setting
• Dedication to inclusive practices and differentiated instruction
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities
• Ability to foster a positive, supportive classroom environment

Key responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to middle schoolers with mild to moderate disabilities within a resource room setting
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families and team members
• Monitor student progress toward goals, adjusting instruction and supports as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and case notes as required
• Serve as an advocate for students, promoting access to the general curriculum
• Facilitate small groups and one-on-one instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Communicate regularly and effectively with families, colleagues, and administrators
