Job Description
Make an immediate impact by supporting students as a Special Education Teacher, focusing on Moderate to Severe needs (ESN), in a dynamic classroom setting for the remainder of the school year. Key Qualifications:
- Active California Moderate/Severe (Mod/Sev) Education Specialist Credential (required)
- Prior experience in an ESN Special Day Class setting
- Demonstrated skill in writing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deep understanding of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) and classroom management strategies
- Ability to coach, mentor, and direct a team of 59 paraeducators
- Experience handling a class caseload of 1015 students with moderate to severe needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction tailored to students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Lead and coordinate classroom paraeducators, ensuring effective support and collaboration
- Draft, update, and implement IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Develop and apply effective behavioral interventions and positive support plans
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student growth and engagement
- Collaborate closely with families, related service providers, and administration
