Special Education Teacher - Emeryville, CA

Located in the vibrant community near Emeryville, this full-time contract role spans the upcoming school year, from August 19th, 2026, through June 14th, 2027. With a manageable caseload of five students, you'll provide meaningful instruction and support, fostering growth in a nurturing, specialized classroom environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Current and active California teaching credentials required
• Prior experience with elementary-aged students with extensive support needs (ESN) preferred
• Expertise in supporting non-verbal communication and alternative augmentative communication (AAC) strategies
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Collaborative approach to working with paraprofessionals, specialists, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver tailored curriculum and instruction for students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Employ assistive technologies and AAC devices to enhance communication and learning
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with IEP goals
• Cultivate a supportive and structured classroom setting
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic student development
