Job Description

Step into a fulfilling role dedicated to supporting middle and high school students in a dynamic Behavior Intervention Program. This contract opportunity, beginning in August and spanning the full 26/27 school year, centers on working with grades 7-12 in a self-contained classroom for students with emotional disabilities. The setting offers robust support, including two full-time aides and a manageable caseloadcurrently five students, capped at ten. All services will be delivered in person.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active California mild/moderate special education teaching credential (required)
  • Experience in behavior intervention or emotional disability programs strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement IEPs for students with mild to moderate needs
  • Confidence managing a self-contained classroom with a diverse student population
  • Collaborate effectively with support staff and related service providers

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and carry out IEPs, adjusting instruction and interventions to meet student needs
  • Foster a positive, structured environment supporting both emotional and academic growth
  • Direct two full-time classroom aides for optimal group and individualized instruction
  • Monitor and document student progress, participating in regular IEP meetings
  • Communicate regularly with families and school teams to ensure continuity of care and support
  • Uphold best practices and compliance with state and federal regulations for special education
