A contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher passionate about working with grades 7-12 in a Behavior Intervention Program focused on students with emotional disabilities. The classroom benefits from the support of two full-time aides, creating a highly collaborative setting, and you will play a vital role in providing structured, individualized instruction.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active California Mild/Moderate Special Education Credential (required)
  • Experience with middle and high school students, specifically grades 7-12
  • Knowledge and confidence in Behavior Intervention Programs and strategies for students with emotional disabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt instruction and classroom management for a mild/moderate caseload
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with aides and wider school staff
  • Commitment to providing in-person instruction for the 2026/2027 academic year, starting in August

Primary Duties:

  • Teach a caseload of 5-10 students in a self-contained classroom setting, blending middle and high school grades
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to student needs
  • Partner effectively with classroom aides to optimize support and learning outcomes for each student
  • Utilize evidence-based practices for both academic and behavioral interventions in a Behavior Intervention Program setting
  • Foster a supportive, safe, and engaging environment to help students thrive both behaviorally and academically
  • Maintain regular communication with families and multidisciplinary teams
