Educational Interpreter - Hearne, TX

Make an impact in the educational journey of K-12 students by supporting communication and inclusion as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter. This contract opportunity is based near Hearne, TX, with assignments available on a per diem, as-needed basis. Youll work in dynamic school environments, partnering closely with educators and students to help bridge communication gaps and foster understanding.

Qualifications:

• Active SLI Certification in Texas is required
• BEI Certification
• Experience interpreting for students in K-12 environments preferred
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Professional, reliable, and adaptable to changing school settings

Responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language to ASL, and ASL to spoken language, in classroom and school-related activities for students and staff
• Facilitate clear, accurate communication while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Adapt interpreting style to meet the diverse needs of students at varying grade levels
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administrators to provide consistent access to instruction and school events
• Support student participation in academic and extracurricular settings
• Stay updated with best practices and ongoing developments in educational interpreting

This flexible, per diem position allows you to take on assignments as your availability permits, ideal for interpreters seeking variety and autonomy in their work schedule.
