Qualifications:

• Current SLI Certification for Texas
• Valid BEI Certification
• Demonstrated experience interpreting in educational settings, preferably with K-12 students
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Adaptability for working with a diverse student population

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpreting between spoken English and ASL during classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Adapt interpreting services to suit various age groups and developmental levels, from elementary through high school
• Collaborate with educators, support staff, and special education teams to facilitate inclusive academic experiences
• Assist in preparing educational materials and resources to support communication
• Maintain detailed and timely documentation as required by school standards
• Remain informed about best practices in educational interpreting

This contract runs from the earliest available start date through May 26, 2027. Hours and days are scheduled on a per diem, as-needed basis, ensuring you have the freedom to accommodate your existing commitments or other positions.
