Per Diem Registered Nurse School Setting - Waukegan, IL

School Registered Nurses are needed for per diem, flexible opportunities supporting students 1:1 in a welcoming, school-based environment near Waukegan, IL. This role offers compassionate professionals the chance to provide personalized care and make a meaningful impact alongside educators in local schools. Shifts are available on an as-needed basis, allowing you to accept assignments that fit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical, behavioral, and social support for students in the classroom
• Deliver direct 1:1 assistance as directed by teachers and school teams
• Support students medical needs, assist with daily routines, classroom activities, and transitions
• Help with mobility, supervision, and personal care tasks
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

School Compliance Requirements:

• Valid RN license
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test (per school district requirements)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, assist with lifting when needed
• Updated clearances, or willingness to obtain prior to starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child/healthcare settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPR, G-Tube, or Trach experience is a plus but not required
• Reliable, patient, and team-oriented approach

Compensation for this position ranges from $33.00 to $45.00. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
