Job Description
Connect with students in a meaningful way as an Instructional Aide Sub, supporting the daily success of school environments near Sterling Heights, MI. These per diem, as-needed roles are a wonderful opportunity for caring professionals who want to provide 1:1 or small group support, offering flexibility while maintaining a rewarding connection with children and school communities.
As an Instructional Aide Sub, you'll:
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom settings
- Provide individualized or group assistance as guided by classroom teachers and staff
- Help students manage daily routines, classroom tasks, and transitions
- Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEPs when necessary
- Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care needs for students with varying support requirements
- Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive session for every learner
To qualify for this role:
- Hold a high school diploma or GED and be at least 18 years old
- Complete or present an up-to-date TB test (as required)
- Be able to stand, walk, and help with lifting as situations arise
- Have current school compliance clearances, or be willing to obtain them prior to starting
- Prior experience in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings is valued
- Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavior challenges is a plus
- Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT is welcomed but not essential
- Exhibit patience, reliability, and a collaborative approach
