Job Description

As a per diem paraprofessional near Olathe, KS, youll work closely with students to foster academic progress, positive behavior, and essential social skills. As part of this team, you will:

  • Provide individualized or small group supportacademic, behavioral, and socialunder the supervision of classroom teachers
  • Assist students in daily routines, classroom transitions, and active participation
  • Implement established behavior support plans and follow the directives outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Help with student mobility, supervision, and personal care as needed
  • Promote and help maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Ideal candidates bring:

  • An Associates degree or higher
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • The physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as required
  • Current fingerprint background clearances (or willingness to obtain before starting)
  • Experience in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare environments (preferred)
  • A background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • Certification or hands-on experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT considered a plus
  • A reliable, patient, and collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues
