Job Description
School-based Registered Behavior Technician substitutes are needed for flexible, per diem roles supporting students in a structured academic environment near Oakland, CA. Key Duties:
- Provide behavioral, academic, and social support to students in classroom settings
- Record student behavior and communicate observations to supervising staff
- Offer direct assistance as directed by teachers, including 1:1 or small-group support
- Assist students with classroom routines, transitions, and participation
- Implement and follow individualized behavior support plans and IEPs as needed
- Support mobility, safety supervision, and personal care, ensuring all students needs are met
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Active RBT certification
- At least 18 years of age
- Current TB test (in line with school district standards)
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting/support
- Required clearances (must be up to date, or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- CPI, PMT, or additional RBT experience welcomed
- Dependable, team-oriented, and patient approach
