School-based Registered Behavior Technician substitutes are needed for flexible, per diem roles supporting students in a structured academic environment near Oakland, CA. Key Duties:

  • Provide behavioral, academic, and social support to students in classroom settings
  • Record student behavior and communicate observations to supervising staff
  • Offer direct assistance as directed by teachers, including 1:1 or small-group support
  • Assist students with classroom routines, transitions, and participation
  • Implement and follow individualized behavior support plans and IEPs as needed
  • Support mobility, safety supervision, and personal care, ensuring all students needs are met
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active RBT certification
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Current TB test (in line with school district standards)
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting/support
  • Required clearances (must be up to date, or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
  • Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
  • CPI, PMT, or additional RBT experience welcomed
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and patient approach
