Per Diem Instructional Aide in Wyandotte, MI

As a valued instructional aide, youll provide one-on-one and small group assistance to help students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. This as-needed position lets you accept shifts that work with your schedule, based on school coverage needs. Your ability to build rapport with students and support their growth will truly make a difference each day.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver academic, behavioral, and social support within K-12 classroom settings
• Assist students individually or in small groups under teacher guidance
• Help students with transitions, routines, and active engagement in class activities
• Follow behavior support plans and implement IEP strategies as directed
• Supervise, encourage safe mobility, and assist with self-care needs
• Maintain an inclusive, respectful, and secure learning atmosphere

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• 48 college credit hours or active paraprofessional certification
• 18 years of age or older
• TB test (aligned with school requirements)
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting if needed
• Up-to-date clearances, or willingness to obtain before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience (not required, but beneficial)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude
