Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Whittier, CA

As an integral part of the school staff, youll provide crucial support to teachers and make a significant impact on students educational experience.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with students on a 1:1 or small-group basis, reinforcing instruction and assisting with participation in classroom activities
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and implementing established behavior support plans
• Follow IEPs and collaborate with teachers and staff to address student needs
• Provide support for mobility, supervision, and personal care as necessary
• Maintain a learning environment that is safe, respectful, and inclusive

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Current TB test (per district guidelines)
• Ability to stand, walk, and provide physical assistance when required
• Must be able to complete or update fingerprinting and background clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Previous work in schools, special education, behavior intervention, or childcare
• Experience supporting students with special needs, including autism or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices is a plus
• Reliable, patient, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team
