Per Diem Teacher's Aide - Whittier, California

Instructional Aide substitutes are needed for flexible, per diem opportunities within supportive school environments. This role is an excellent match for caring professionals eager to provide individualized support and positively influence students educational experiences. On an as-needed basis, substitutes are called upon to cover essential shifts, making it easy to choose assignments that fit your schedule.

In this position, youll:

• Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom settings.
• Offer one-on-one or small-group support as directed by classroom teachers and staff.
• Help students navigate daily activities, transitions, and routines.
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs as needed.
• Support students with mobility, supervision, or personal care requirements.
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment by demonstrating respect and compassion.

To be considered, youll need to meet these minimum requirements for school employment:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years old.
• TB test as required by local policy.
• Ability to be on your feet, walk, and lift when necessary.
• Willingness to complete all required background clearances before starting.

Preferred candidates may also have:

• Classroom, special education, behavioral health, or childcare experience.
• Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges.
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required).
• A responsible, patient, and collaborative attitude.
