Per Diem Teacher Assistant - Whittier, California

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially during classroom activities
• Provide individualized or small-group assistance as guided by school staff
• Help students with classroom routines, transitions, and active participation
• Implement behavior support plans and comply with IEP goals where applicable
• Offer mobility, supervision, and occasional personal care support
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• Ability to pass a TB test (in accordance with district policy)
• Capacity to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Willingness to provide or obtain all required background clearances prior to your start

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare environments
• Experience working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Knowledge of CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques is advantageous but not required
• Reliable, patient, and team-oriented disposition
