Per Diem Paraprofessional in Waukegan, IL

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized or small-group assistance under the direction of classroom teachers
• Support students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom integration
• Follow behavior support strategies and implement IEP accommodations as directed
• Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care when required
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Maintain professionalism and respect in all interactions with students and staff

Mandatory Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Ability to meet school district clearance standards (e.g., TB test, background check)
• Physical ability to assist with lifting, standing, and active supervision

Preferred Experience:

• Prior work in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience with special needs, autism, or behavioral support strategies
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training (not mandatory)
• Patience, reliability, and dedication to student growth
