Per Diem Paraprofessional in Waukegan, IL

As an Instructional Aide, youll play an essential role in partnering with teachers and school staff to help students achieve success. You will work directly with students 1:1 or in small groups, providing assistance in classroom activities and daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings
• Provide individualized or small-group assistance, as directed by teachers
• Help students with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs as required
• Support mobility, supervision, and, if necessary, personal care needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• TB test (in line with district policies)
• Able to stand, walk, and provide physical assistance as needed
• Willingness to obtain or provide current clearances prior to starting

Preferred Background:

• Experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care is valued
• Background working with students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training is helpful but not required
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude
