Job Description
Looking to make a difference every day? Per diem Instructional Aide substitute opportunities are available for compassionate individuals in a flexible, school-based setting. These roles provide direct 1:1 or small-group support to students, helping them thrive academically, behaviorally, and socially.
This as-needed position allows you to accept assignments that fit your schedule, making it ideal for those seeking both flexibility and fulfillment. As an Instructional Aide substitute, youll work alongside teachers and school staff to ensure every student is included and supported throughout their school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social support in classroom settings
- Support students 1:1 or in small groups as directed
- Assist with classroom routines, supervision, transitions, and daily participation
- Implement behavior support strategies and follow IEP goals when applicable
- Help with mobility, monitoring, and personal care needs
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Completion of a TB test (as required)
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting
- Active or obtainable clearances before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Working with children in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques is a plus
- Reliability, patience, and a team-oriented attitude
