Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Warren, MI

As an instructional aide, you will work one-on-one or with small groups, assisting learners across academic, behavioral, and daily living tasks based on teachers and staff directions. Shifts are available as needed and tailored to school coverage requirements, giving you flexibility and autonomy to accept assignments that fit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized or group support to students as directed by educators
• Assist with daily classroom routines, transitions, and participation
• Follow individualized education programs (IEPs) and implement behavior support plans
• Support students with supervision, mobility, and personal care needs
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all learners

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• One of the following: active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or at least 36 college credits
• Minimum 18 years old
• Ability to meet school health requirements (such as TB testing)
• Current or obtainable school clearances
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed

Preferred Experience:

• Background in educational, child care, or behavioral support settings
• Experience with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT experience is a plus
• Evidence of reliability, patience, and teamwork
