Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Van Nuys, CA

School Paraprofessional substitutes are needed for flexible, per diem opportunities supporting students in structured classroom environments. Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom settings
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group guidance as directed by teachers and school staff
• Assist with daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as needed
• Provide supervision, mobility, and personal care support when required
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist students with lifting as needed
• Current TB test or willingness to complete district-required screening
• All required clearances must be up-to-date or obtained before starting

Preferred Background:

• Experience in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Familiarity supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques a plus (not required)
• Dependable, patient, collaborative approach
