Per Diem Paraprofessional in Valley Center, CA

Instructional Aide Substitutes are needed to help students succeed in vibrant school environments. These per diem, as-needed roles provide a perfect opportunity for compassionate and dedicated professionals interested in flexible work within a structured educational setting. Youll provide crucial 1:1 or small-group support, helping students navigate academic, behavioral, and social challenges as part of their daily school experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer individualized and small-group academic, behavioral, and social support under guidance from teachers and school staff
• Assist students with classroom participation, daily routines, and transitions throughout the school day
• Implement behavior plans and follow IEPs as directed
• Support student mobility, provide supervision, and assist with personal care as needed
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where students feel empowered to learn and grow

Basic Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to pass required TB test and obtain necessary clearances prior to starting
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting if necessary

Preferred Background:

• Experience in classrooms, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Exposure to working with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques (not required, but a plus!)
• Dependable, patient, and works well within a team
