Per Diem Paraprofessional in Vallejo, CA

Key Responsibilities

• Assist students in classroom activities, supporting them academically, behaviorally, and socially
• Provide 1:1 or small-group guidance according to the direction of teachers and staff
• Help students with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions throughout the day
• Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed
• Support students mobility, supervision, and assist with personal care when required
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Completion of a TB test as required by the district
• Ability to stand, walk, and help lift students when needed
• Current school compliance clearances (or willingness to obtain prior to starting)

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required)
• Demonstrated patience, reliability, and a collaborative attitude
