Per Diem Special Education Paraprofessional in Vallejo, CA

Instructional Aide Substitutes are needed for per diem opportunities supporting students in school settings. As an Instructional Aide, youll work directly with studentsoften one-on-oneproviding both academic and behavioral support as needed by the schools teaching staff.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially in the classroom
• Provide direct support either 1:1 or in small groups under teacher direction
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and class participation
• Implement behavior plans and aid in following IEPs where applicable
• Support students with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to obtain a TB test per district standards
• Capable of standing, walking, and supporting students with lifting if necessary
• Able to obtain necessary background clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background working in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT training is a plus (not mandatory)
• Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a collaborative approach
