Responsibilities include:

• Providing direct academic and behavioral assistance to students in classroom settings
• Supporting students 1:1 or in small groups, following guidance from teachers and school staff
• Assisting with classroom participation, daily routines, and smooth transitions throughout the school day
• Implementing behavior plans and following IEPs where applicable
• Offering help with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs as needed
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all learners

To qualify, candidates must have:

• A high school diploma or GED
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to meet all school compliance requirements, such as a TB test and current clearances (or willingness to complete them prior to starting)
• Physical ability to actively assist students, including lifting if needed

Preferred qualities:

• Background in school, child care, special education, or behavioral health settings
• Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials (not required, but beneficial)
• Reliability, patience, and a collaborative attitude
