Per Diem Paraeducator in Trenton, MI

Responsibilities:

• Assist students both 1:1 and in small groups under the direction of teachers and staff
• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support within classrooms
• Guide students through daily routines, classroom participation, and smooth transitions
• Follow and help implement individual behavior plans and IEPs as needed
• Provide mobility assistance, supervision, and personal care as required
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment throughout the school day

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Current TB test (per district requirements)
• Physically able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when necessary
• Willingness to obtain or update school-required clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Background working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience with students who have special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials are valued but not required
• Dependable, empathetic, and team-driven approach
