Job Description
School Paraprofessional substitutes are needed to provide valuable instructional support in school settings near Temecula, CA. These flexible, per diem opportunities are perfect for compassionate professionals eager to assist students on an as-needed basis and make an impact in their local educational communities. As an Instructional Aide, you will provide one-on-one support to students, help maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment, and work under the direction of teachers and school staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic, behavioral, and social support to students during classroom activities
- Assist students individually or in small groups, as directed by the teaching team
- Help students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and participation
- Follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and implement behavior support strategies
- Support students mobility, supervision, and, if necessary, personal care needs
- Foster a respectful and safe learning environment at all times
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 years of age or older
- Current TB test (or willingness to obtain, per district guidelines)
- Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting when needed
- Current clearances, or willingness to secure before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in a school, special education, behavioral health, or child care setting
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated reliability, patience, and a collaborative mindset
