Per Diem Instructional Assistant - Tehachapi, CA

School Paraprofessional Substitute opportunities are available for individuals eager to make a difference in the lives of students. As an Instructional Aide, youll provide meaningful support to students 1:1 and in small groups, assisting teachers to help every learner succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom settings
• Provide targeted 1:1 or small-group assistance as directed by teachers and staff
• Aid students with daily routines, classroom transitions, and active participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEP accommodations where applicable
• Assist with mobility needs, supervision, and personal care requirements
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students

Compliance Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Recent TB test (per district standards)
• Ability to stand, walk, and provide assistance with lifting as needed
• Willingness to obtain current clearances prior to starting assignments

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT techniques (a plus, not required)
• Dependable, patient, and collaborative attitude
