Per Diem Teacher Aide | Sterling Heights, Michigan

As an instructional aide, you'll provide essential support 1:1 or in small groups, helping students reach their full potential while enjoying shift flexibility based on your availability.

Position Highlights:

• Deliver personalized support to students academically, behaviorally, and socially within classroom environments
• Work directly with teachers and school staff to assist with daily routines, transitions, and learning activities
• Implement behavior plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as directed
• Supervise, assist with mobility, and attend to basic personal care needs to ensure safety and inclusion
• Foster a respectful, nurturing, and structured setting where all students can succeed

Essential Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years of age
• Capability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as situations require
• Completion of a current TB test per district policies
• Willingness to complete pre-hire clearances as required by local educational authorities

Preferred Experience:

• Background in school settings, special education, child care, or behavioral health
• Experience supporting children with autism, special needs, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices (preferred, not mandatory)
• Reliable, positive, and collaborative attitude
