Per Diem Instructional Aide in Sterling Heights, MI

Instructional Aide Substitute positions are available for caring, reliable individuals eager to support students in a dynamic school-based environment near Sterling Heights, MI. As an Instructional Aide Substitute, you will:

• Provide 1:1 or small group assistance as directed by classroom teachers and school staff
• Assist students with classroom routines, participation, and transitions throughout the school day
• Support the implementation of behavior plans and follow IEPs as required
• Contribute to a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere
• Offer help with mobility, supervision, and personal care needs if necessary
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with educational teams to support student success

To thrive in this position, you must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Ability to obtain and maintain school compliance documentation (TB test, background clearances)
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and occasionally assist with lifting
• Willingness to obtain any required clearances prior to start

Preferred candidates will have:

• Experience in a school, special education, behavioral health, or childcare setting
• Familiarity or experience supporting students with special needs, behavioral challenges, or autism
• Exposure to CPI, PMT, or RBT (not required, but valued)
• A patient, team-oriented, and adaptable mindset
