Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Sterling Heights, Michigan

What Youll Do:

• Offer academic, behavioral, and social support to students in classroom settings
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance per the direction of teachers and school staff
• Aid with daily routines, classroom participation, and transitions
• Implement behavior support strategies and follow individual education plans (IEPs) when applicable
• Assist with supervision, mobility, and personal care needs
• Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students

What Youll Need:

• High school diploma or GED
• One of the following: active ParaPro certification, Substitute Teaching certification, or at least 36 college credits
• Eligibility to work in a school setting (at least 18 years old)
• TB test as required by the district
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Willingness to secure or provide up-to-date clearances before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in schools, childcare, special education, or behavioral health environments
• Familiarity with supporting students with special needs, autism spectrum disorder, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT certification is a plus
• Reliable, patient, and collaborative attitude
