Per Diem Teacher's Aide - Sterling Heights, Michigan

In this role, youll:

• Assist students with academic work, behavior support, and social engagement in classroom settings
• Provide individualized or small-group support, following teachers and school staff directions
• Help students with daily tasks, classroom transitions, and fostering participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed
• Support mobility, supervision, and personal care requirements
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students

To be eligible, you must:

• Hold a high school diploma or GED
• Possess an active ParaPro or Substitute Teaching certificate, or have completed at least 36 college credits
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Complete a TB test (as required by the district)
• Be able to stand, walk, and assist with lifting if necessary
• Have current background clearances or be willing to obtain them prior to starting

Preferred backgrounds include experience working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or childcare; supporting students with special needs or behavioral challenges; and familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT practices. Reliability, patience, and a collaborative spirit are highly valued.
