Classroom Assistant | Sterling Heights, Michigan

Make a positive impact every day by supporting students in the classroom as a School Paraprofessional Substitute. As an Instructional Aide, youll have the opportunity to make a real difference, working 1:1 with students or assisting small groupsall within a structured, supportive school environment. This is an as-needed, per diem role with flexible shifts that align with school coverage needs, providing the perfect schedule for those who value work-life balance.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must have either an active ParaPro certification, a Substitute Teaching certification, or at least 36 college credits
• Minimum age of 18
• TB test in accordance with local district policies
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and help with lifting as needed
• Current clearances or willingness to obtain them before starting
• Preferred experience includes: working in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care; supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Experience with CPI, PMT, or RBT a plus
• Reliability, patience, and a collaborative spirit strongly valued

Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic, behavioral, and social support for students in classroom settings
• Deliver 1:1 or small-group assistance based on direction from classroom teachers
• Help students with daily routines, transitions, and classroom participation
• Implement behavior support plans and follow IEPs as necessary
• Support students mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
