Per Diem Instructional Aide in Sterling Heights, MI

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students individually or in small groups, following guidance from teachers and staff
• Assist with classroom participation, daily routines, transitions, and personal care needs
• Implement behavior support plans, helping maintain a positive environment
• Supervise students to ensure their safety, comfort, and inclusion
• Support students with special needs by fostering independence and growth
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Essential Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum age of 18
• Current or willingness to obtain a TB test per school requirements
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting if necessary
• Up-to-date clearances or willingness to secure them before starting

Preferred Experience:

• Prior involvement in school, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Experience with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• Familiarity with CPI, PMT, or RBT protocols (not required)
• Patient, reliable, and collaborative approach
